Last night we went along to celebrate the exciting launch of Saffron Records, a brand new music label dedicated to young women. The event was held up in Colston Hall’s vibey Terrace Bar, and featured some of Bristol’s most talented young female musicians, a varied crowd of young and old, with women behind cameras, mixing desk, decks, and of course, the label itself.
Saffron’s creative director, Laura Lewis-Paul, is an inspiring woman in our Bristol community, and she’s about to get the opportunity she clearly deserves, and has the energy for, to succeed in making a difference to future careers for our young women. Saffron are offering two amazing 12 month paid apprenticeships in digital marketing and artist & repertoire (A&R) with creative arts agency- Boomsatsuma who will deliver the music industry framework to interns. Saffron have partnered with two Bristol based organisations Futureboogie and We Are Plaster who will take on each relating apprentice for one day a week enabling them to have a varied industry experience.
The label are also signing young women aged 16-24, offering an ethical, progressional and developmental artist contract, suppling artist development from established artists from across the city. Eva Lazarus is a Patron for Saffron Records and will be supporting the younger generations by through mentoring.
Saffron are also looking to fill the role of a Digital Marketing Apprentice to plan and execute their own marketing strategy.
