Mayfest Radio is back. Bolder, bigger, and broadcasting 24/7 from the beating heart of the festival. And this year, they’ve invited The World is Listening for a series of live shows shining a light on women in theatre, and the issues that face these women in the performing world.
Hold up. What is Mayfest? Mayfest is Bristol’s unique annual festival of contemporary theatre, dedicated to presenting a broad range of unusual, playful and ambitious work from leading theatre makers from Bristol, the UK and beyond.
Live from 12pm on 12 May, Mayfest Radio brings you music, soundbites and tasters of all of the shows you’ll be able to hear, chats with the artists who are stepping onto Bristol’s stages during the festival and our amazing Mayfest ticket giveaways.
Mayfest Radio is a chance to delve deeper into the festival programme through conversation and debate, interviews and features, plus some carefully selected audio work and a smattering of lovely music. Across the 11 days of the festival, we’ll be bringing back new episodes of old favourites like our apocalyptic take on Desert Island Discs, Arias for an Apocalypse. Hear more about shows like The Complete Deaths, O No! and Can I Start Again Please in Harpin on with Harpin with Idiot Child director, Anna Harpin. Good Morning Mayfest goes out at a 11am each day and we’ll have sounds and views from the belly of the festival with Sara Zaltash in Field Reports.
Mayfest Radio won’t be live until 11am on May 12, and we won’t be live until 4pm Saturday 14th, BUT from then onwards you will be able to find a full schedule for the whole festival on this page and just hit the play button wherever you see it to tune in or tune in via our iPhone or Android apps, available at the links below.
We broadcast live from the Mayfest Cafe at The Station (in the Old Fire Station on Silver Street) from 11am on May 12 – come and say hello.
